Ahead of her Time

Created by Steven 3 years ago
Bought up in the austerity of the war years mum hated throwing anything away, and always tried to find a use for what others might consider as rubbish, in many ways ahead of her time.  Around the house there was always socks to be darned and mum kept a big tin of buttons, so she could always find a match if dad or Steven lost one off one of our shirts.  Susan fondly remembers making gift tags out of the old Christmas cards each year - something she still enjoys today.  When Steven found all my old childhood Lego in a drawer she suggested that we sell it - it was fun advertising it on eBay, if hard work, especially the package that we sent to a buyer in France which the Post Office sent to New Zealand!
